Wisdom from the Ages

Throughout the course of lreland’s history there has been a great desire for knowledge and wisdom. This knowledge and wisdom comes through pre-historic times, it is realised in the symbols through Christian times and in recent times. This knowledge has been passed down from one to another, but also it is very much part of the symbols that there are in Ireland, and this brings us to a conscious and an unconscious level.

“In Ireland we need to appreciate our uniqueness”

It also brings us, as we tell the story of Ireland at Ár mBréacha to an understanding of the unconscious forces that drive and motivate us. We will be carrying, at one level, great energy and power from the past and images; we will also be carrying baggage from our historical past. It is in our modern day best practice for us to connect these together to become more conscious, to become more aware, so that we can place the good things from the past into our future and continue to build ourselves as a nation that is healthy, strong and also united. We need to understand ourselves at different levels.

  1. To appreciate our uniqueness. Every country is unique to itself, and every culture is unique to itself, so for us in Ireland we need to appreciate our uniqueness, so that together in these days, with the rest of the people and the nations of the earth, to be able to share what we have and hear what they have.
  2. We need self examination and reflection upon how we see ourselves in the days in which we live. In this self reflection we need to be honest, and we need to look at the unconscious and the subconscious and the archetypical forces from our mythology, history and images that motivate us and that continue to recreate us.
  3. We need to integrate our image of our God, our perception of eternity and the role that we play in life and the role that we play in the world.
  4. The institutions that are ours -to renew always our institutions and the collective forces and powers that both control and protect us and to continue to see them in the light of reason of faith and the environment.

“share what we have”

Ár mBréacha continues to work at this particular aspect in a very acute and real way. Ár mBréacha continues to develop ourselves individually as Irish people both at home and abroad, and Ár mBréacha continues everything that is ours in the light of our history and our dreams.
